Through the Texas Corn Producers Association (TCPA), Texas corn farmers are able to educate policy influencers on a number of issues affecting their farms. TCPA works with elected officials, regulatory agencies and other key influencers to create an environment that enhances the future for Texas corn farmers.
TCPA Areas of Action
There are many issues and priorities at the local, state and federal level the association is active in on behalf of Texas farmers, including:
- Groundwater and surface water issues
- Corn markets, including ethanol
- Regulatory relief
- Grain producers protection
- Property rights
- Farm programs and crop insurance
- Transportation and infrastructure
Its ultimate goal is to ensure supportive policy exists that allows corn producers across the state to be profitable.
Throughout the year, TCPA makes regular trips to Austin and D.C. to visit with legislators about matters impacting farmers and the agricultural industry as a whole. Additionally, the association is involved on a local level, keeping in touch with district congressional staff, staying in conversations with water districts, other local regulators and more.
