On behalf of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) will manage a $7.5 million cost-share program to aid landowners and repair or install perimeter fencing to regulate feral swine from entering the property.
Feral hogs are one of the most destructive animals in North America. The hogs travel in groups and cause damage to agricultural operations, natural resources, and native ecosystems. They can also spread diseases and cause animal health issues.
Applications are due October 13, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Applicants must demonstrate high concentrations of feral swine and describe the impact they have on the community and producers.
