Irrigation Management Program

This year’s Irrigation Management Program in Monte Alto will focus on challenges and opportunities for system modernization. The educational program will also highlight improving efficiency within irrigation districts and farms in the Rio Grande Valley.

Topics include:

• Efforts to improve efficiency and capabilities of the Rio Grande Center for Ag Water Efficiency
• Benefits of converting small irrigation canals to pipelines
• Salinity management options for irrigators
• Approaches implemented in the field and lessons learned for an ongoing cotton irrigation demonstration project
• Updates on the recent Texas Legislative session
• Financial programs available to improve irrigation infrastructure within the districts and on farms
• Additional resources available to water districts and farmers
