Texas Corn Producers Association Scholarships

TCPA is proud to again sponsor four scholarships for its student members. This year, TCPA will award two $1,000 scholarships in each of the following categories:

  • High school senior as of January 1, 2021
  • Current college or university undergraduate student as of January 1, 2021

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must attend/plan to attend a Texas college or university full time
  • Current TCPA and TCPB directors’ children are not eligible

How to Apply

Complete the online application form below and submit a written essay meeting the following requirements:

  • Explain what you believe is a pertinent issue/problem facing corn producers today and ways the industry can overcome the challenge.
  • Essay is to have a maximum of 500 words.
  • Applicants are encouraged to provide a recommendation letter.
  • All entries must be submitted electronically by 5 p.m. January 1, 2021

Judging will be based on shown knowledge of subject, as well as grammar, spelling and punctuation.

National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Scholarship

Included with the TCPA student membership is a complimentary membership with National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) — making students eligible for even more benefits and national scholarship opportunities. Opportunities made available by NCGA and BASF are available to:

  • Undergraduate students studying agriculture
    • Five scholarships available
    • $1,500 per scholarship
  • Students enrolled in a community college or technical school
    • Five scholarships available
    • $1,000 per scholarship
  • A graduate or PhD student whose area of study will benefit the
    corn industry

    • One $2,500 scholarship available

Basic Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant must be an NCGA member or son/daughter of an NCGA member.
  • Employees and the families of employees of NCGA or any division of BASF or their subsidiaries are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • Scholarships are for one year. Previous recipients may not apply.
  • Applications are due December 4, 2020
