This spring, Karlie Venhaus was welcomed to Texas Corn Producers’ team as a communications intern. Venhaus is from Canyon, Texas, and graduated from Canyon High School in 2021. In Canyon, she spent her time playing basketball, was a part of student council, and served as a class councilman sophomore through senior year.
Being from just up the road, Lubbock was not a change of scenery, but she is loving her time at Texas Tech University. At Texas Tech, Venhaus is an agricultural communications major. On campus, she is a part of organizations such as Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, Block and Bridle, and Pi Beta Phi sorority.
Venhaus was also heavily involved in the agricultural industry growing up. Her family farms wheat, owns a cow-calf operation, and she showed livestock for 10 years.
With an agriculturally-based background, she always knew she wanted to pursue a career in agriculture and is happy to take her first steps with TCP. Venhaus will be assisting with newsletters, design, social media, and other communications programs.
“I am excited to fill this role at TCP. Coming into college I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, so I am ready to get my feet wet and start working toward my career,” Venhaus said.
