Each year Texas A&M AgriLife Research runs performance tests to analyze hybrid corn performance for the year at multiple locations across the state. This information is available to help farmers with their variety selections to increase yields and profitability. The 2023 results are in and available HERE.
This year, six irrigated and four non-irrigated test sites were planted in the major production regions of Texas, including the Western Gulf Coastal Plain, Southern Texas Plains, East Central Texas Plains, Texas Blackland Prairies and High Plains. A total of 223 entries were evaluated across 10 locations, representing 43 unique hybrids from 9 commercial seed companies.
The data aims to provide farmers valuable insight as they make decisions prior to the upcoming planting season.
